SOURCE TRANSPARENCY

Checked rows. Clear limits.

This independent project is maintained by repository owner iambipinpaul, not Nepal’s government. It publishes 753 local-level codes and 6743 ward codes from 77 districts in 7 provinces. Coverage is defined by the reviewed source records; independent nationwide ward completeness has not been audited.

Retrieval records when the page was saved; checking records the actual review of the selected rows. Neither is the source’s publication date. Fetching, normalization and site builds do not create a new source-check date.

The snapshot is retained in repository source inputs, not deployed with public browser assets. Ordinary builds use saved inputs and make no government-site requests.

All 753 rows and 6,743 source-range wards in the saved GPO table are included, with no withheld rows or missing English labels. The Doramba / Doramba Shailung name correspondence is supported by the MoFAGA-linked municipality’s own cooperative and judicial-committee acts, saved as quoted evidence. The original GPO Nepali name and ward range remain unchanged; no rename date is inferred.

English-name reference and licence

English labels are reviewed editorial Romanizations, not claimed official government English names. The bilingual naming reference is local-states-nepal by Sagar Gautam, saved at a fixed revision under the MIT licence. Names are matched within their province, district and government type; spelling and current-name choices are recorded explicitly. This reference does not supply the published postal codes or ward ranges.

How the codes are checked

Selected official table rows are retained with their original cell values and evidence references. Publication uses reviewed place identities and names, rather than treating every extracted row as checked. Each published source row explicitly gives a first ward code and an inclusive suffix range. Published wards are expanded only within that range, then checked against the local-level code and stated ward count. They are not inferred from ward counts alone.

Independent identity and government-type reference

The saved MoFAGA local-government directory provides 753 administrative records across 7 provinces and 77 districts. Its separate government-type lists contain 6 metropolitan cities, 11 sub-metropolitan cities, 276 municipalities and 460 rural municipalities. Published full-table mappings are checked record by record against these identities and types, with explicit evidence for accepted spelling or former-name differences. Equal totals alone are not used as a match.

MoFAGA’s directory does not provide English names or ward counts. Ward codes still rely on the GPO’s explicit ranges, not a new independent ward-count audit. Records with unresolved name equivalence remain unchecked and unpublished, withheld from lookup and copying; any unresolved source names and reasons are listed in the limitations below. Original source names remain visible, including evidenced former names.

Limitations and names

English place names are editorial transliterations, not official English names. Previously reviewed names and aliases, original Nepali spellings and existing URLs are preserved. Naming-reference reuse is covered by the MIT licence above. Government postal-data reuse licensing has not yet been established, and no government data licence is claimed.

A user-supplied HTML snapshot is saved separately as unverified import input. Its 753 extracted postal rows match the fetched GPO table, but its original retrieval and publication dates are unknown. Matching tables do not establish national completeness or independently reviewed place names, and this attachment does not replace the checked official snapshot.
