# Nepal Postal Code Finder

> An independent reference for Nepal's reviewed municipality and ward postal codes. This site is not operated by Nepal's government.

Coverage: 753 local levels and 6743 wards in 77 districts and 7 provinces. These totals describe the reviewed source records, not an independent nationwide ward-completeness audit.

Municipality / local-level codes have five digits. Ward codes have seven digits. Keep codes as strings and preserve every digit. Provinces and districts do not have one representative postal code. Ask for the local level and, when needed, the ward. Use the district and province to distinguish places with similar names. Do not invent a missing ward code or shorten a code to fit a shipping form.

Each HTML page has a plain Markdown version at its URL followed by index.md. Markdown pages contain the same published text, codes, official source links and checking dates, without search controls. Cite the canonical HTML page identified in each Markdown document. English names are editorial transliterations; original Nepali names are preserved. Source-check dates are separate from retrieval, publication and site-build dates. No government data licence is claimed; read the source and naming-reference terms before reuse.

The JSON index contains provinces, districts, localLevels, wards, sources and coverage. Join district.provinceId to province.id, localLevel.districtId to district.id, and ward.localLevelId to localLevel.id. Codes are strings. Record urls are paths relative to this site's origin. Local-level sourceId refers to sources.id; sources include the official URL and checkedAtUtc. Read coverage.limitations before using the data.
